With more than a decade of experience working in studios and live event venues across the San Francisco Bay Area, Joel’s expertise spans music production, live sound, podcast engineering, and everything in between.
Founding Gimbel Sound: A Passion for Audio & the Arts
Joel founded Gimbel Sound in 2017, building on his deep love for audio, music, and the arts, and quickly grew his reputation for delivering high-quality sound in both live and studio environments. His journey began with his work as an audio technician at Chabot College, where he honed his skills in music recording, sound design, and live event production. His hands-on experience with renowned industry professionals, like producer Michael Rosen at East Bay Recorders, and his work with nonprofit and corporate events, further solidified his commitment to high-quality audio production.
Mastering Live Sound for Corporate Events: IATSE Local 16 Stagehands Union
Joel spent years working in live corporate events as part of the IATSE Local 16 Stagehands Union, providing high-quality sound for corporate events and large-scale productions. This experience gave him the technical skills and precision needed to execute flawless live sound for events, a skill that has proven invaluable in his work with musicians, content creators, and small businesses.
Expanding Into Digital Media: Elevating Content Creation
As his career progressed, Joel expanded his focus to podcast production and digital media, seeing a growing need among small business owners and content creators to produce professional-quality audio and visual content. This led him to partner with Morgan Valdivieso, a talented web designer, to rebrand his business as Gimbel Vision & Sound, offering comprehensive services that include podcast production, live event sound, and online content creation.
